Shellharbour City Council’s Community and Cultural Life Team
Lamerton Crescent, Shellharbour City Centre NSW 2529
Edit this ListingSend a MessageThe Community and Cultural Life team works with all departments of Council, government bodies, the not for profit sector and of course the community to ensure the people of Shellharbour are consulted, and their social needs considered and catered for. We endeavour to do this using an Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) model that focuses on identifying the collective strengths, skills and assets within our community and building on these so as to create a stronger and more connected community.
Using an ABCD model, we aim to:
create opportunities for everyone in the community to be included
develop maps of the resources that communities can use to grow strong
discover what works in the community and build on it
discover what people care about
engage with the community and build partnerships that work
discover the role of individuals, groups and organisations in community building.
The team is made up of 8 community enthusiasts who work on a number of projects (listed below).
